Western Civilization
Western Civilization is a survey course of the development of European History from Ancient Greece through the intellectual, social, political, and scientific revolutions of Europe to the present, post-World War II interdependent global society. The aim of this course is for students to become critical thinkers in the examination and evaluation of the geographic, socio-cultural, political, economic, and philosophical themes that are intertwined throughout the development of Western Civilization.

About my Class and Expectations:
- Come to class on time and prepared
- 2" organized 3 ring binder with tabs
- Writing utensil (any assignment written in colored ink will receive a 0)
- Textbook
- Assignment Book

Materials
3 Ring Binder, 2 inch spine recommended highlighter
loose leaf, college ruled paper tab dividers
pens (dark blue/black ink) & #2 pencils book cover
Notebook
You will need to keep an organized 3 ring binder exclusively for this class. It will serve as a critical component of "our" success. You will date your notes and keep them in order, along with any handouts I may give you. I will check for this and you will be graded on it.
Curriculum and Assignments:
You will need a 2î organized 3 ring binder with tabs.
Assignments will be given daily, projects will be assigned quarterly, papers will also be assigned. Unit and chapter tests will be administered.
A weekly current events assignment is due on Friday's to discuss modern Europe.
If you miss a day you are to come to me for the missed assignment at the end of class or in the morning of the first day you return to school. You must take responsibility for getting your work.
Projects and essays can be handed in no more than 3 days late with a reduction of 5 points per day.
Late work will receive a 5 point deduction per day. Late work will be accepted up to two weeks after the assignment was due.
