Each day after 4:00 I put the homework assignments on my phone. That way parents and students can check what the assignment is for that day. Assignments are entered into Powerschool in a timely fashion. This is an excellent tool for parents to see what their student is doing in a particular class. If you are not sure how to use Powerschool to view your student's work, check with the office.
I grew up in Windham, Vermont. I attended Leland and Gray U.H.S. After high school, I went to Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont. I majored in Mathematics and Elementary Education. After college, I got a teacher's aide position at Chester-Andover Elementary School. My position was to be in a math class for each grade level. While working there, I gained experience and knowledge that I had not gotten in college. In December of 1998, a math teacher at Green Mountain died unexpectedly. Through contacts in the district, I was offered the position of filling in for her for the remainder of the school year. It was during this time that I realized that teaching middle/high school students mathematics, was really what I wanted to do. I was licensed to do
this and have been here at GMUHS since. In May of 2011, I completed a three year program to get my masters degree in Mathematics Curriculum and Instruction.
