Welcome Back
I can be reached at school via email mwright@wswsu.org or by phone 875-2146 ext. 226. My classroom is C202.
Each year the classes I teach may change but you can access the information about this year's classes via the links below.
Each day after 4:00 I put the homework assignments on Edmodo.com on the internet. Students all have a username to log on to their math class. Homework, good websites for math and other materials can be found there. This way parents and students can check what the assignment is for that day. Assignments are entered into PowerSchool in a timely fashion. This is an excellent tool for parents to see what their student is doing in a particular class. If you are not sure how to use PowerSchool to view your student's work, check with the office.
I will be incorporating more technology each year. I will continue to post material for students on Edmodo, a site accessed on the internet as Edmodo.com. I will also have some of my lessons available on the web. This is a new intregration of technology that I will be starting in a couple of my classes this fall. This will be explained to students as we start the new school year.
My garden in mid-summer.
I have taught at several schools, including Bellows Falls Middle School, Black River High School, and here at Green Mountain Union High School. I started out in Engineering, but after a few years got into education. I have many interests outside the classroom; including science fiction writing/reading, water color painting and horses. Over the years, I have enjoyed hiking and canoeing with my family. I also love to garden. I grew up in the area, with most of my time being spent in Belmont, Vermont.
I have attended many colleges, as I changed my major five different times! I hold a Masters in Education from Antioch College in Keene, New Hampshire and a CAGS in Integrating Technology in the Classroom from Marlboro Graduate School in Brattleboro, Vermont. I also have two undergraduate degrees in mechanical engineering and liberal arts. I have taught at GMUHS since the fall of 1998. I have taught every grade here from seventh grade up through twelveth. At other times I have taught science, health education and even kindergarten one year! I am often asked which is my favorite age or subject to teach. Every age and subject has its own rewards and drawbacks. My favorite is usually the one I am teaching now!
I have enjoyed raising my two sons--both GMUHS alumni.
