SPECIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT

The Special Services Department is responsible for evaluating and providing support services to students through the Special Education Process as mandated by state and federal law. The department also works with and supports the guidance department to assist with students that are eligible for Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and through the Act 230 plans.

Special Education services are provided to students that are found eligible for special education based on meeting the VT Special Education Regulations criteria. These regulations are designed to ensure that eligible students receive a free appropriate public education in accordance with state and federal lasws and regulations and in a cost-effective manner.
