Special Services Department

The Special Services Department is resposible for evaluating andproviding support services to students through the Special EducationProcess as mandated by state and federal law. The department alsoworks with and supports the guidence department to assit withstudents that are eligible for Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Actof 1973, and through the Act 230 plans.

Special Education services are provided to students that are foundeligible for special education based on meeting the VT SpecialEducation Regulations criteria. These regulations are designed toensure that eligible students receive a free appropriate publiceducation in accordance with state and federal lasws and regulationsand in a cost-effective manner.
