A short story of my life includes growing up and attending public schools in Newton, Massachusetts, working in the White Mountains, graduating from Harvard University, and traveling for a year through New Zealand and the South Pacific. Upon return, I headed back to the Whites to build trails and teach outdoor education with the Appalachian Mountain Club before moving to Vermont to teach at The Putney School. I attended graduate school at Antioch New England and completed my student teaching at Keene High School.
I just completed my third year teaching life sciences at GMUHS. I am also a faculty advisor for a new student group called CIRCLE (Conscious Involvement for Real Change in Learning Communities) and a member of the district-wide Diversity & Equity Committee. Some of my favorite aspects of teaching are helping students to make healthy and sustainable decisions both for themselves and for the Earth. I hope to foster curiosity and a love for learning, to promote civic engagement, and to build a community based on compassion and respect for all.
