Computers are tools. Tools to find, create, edit, organize, annalize, present, and publish information. Technology can help make learning more relevant for students. My goal is to work with students and educators to make technology effective, and to keep it all running reliably.
Bio:
I was born in Sarasota Fl. and grew up in Florida and Mississippi. I was exposed to music from early on. My father was a Jazz musician playing Drums and Vibes. But I turned out to be a symphony musician and play Horn and Percussion. After college, I played professionally in a concert band and small symphony.
I earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Florida State University. At that time my father was a salesman selling audio/visual equipment to schools and started selling computers to schools. I got hooked!!! I became an Apple certified repair technician and got jobs repairing computers and writing computer programs.
I inherited my Uncle's farm in Manchester and let me tell you, as a Florida boy in Vermont, I've learned more ways to freeze pipes than I care to admit. I had been visiting since my childhood. I have always loved Vermont. The friendly mountains, the beautiful forest, the clean roadsides, the relaxed lifestyle. But I do miss the ocean and warm water to swim in.
For the last 19 years I have been teaching computers and helping teachers and students make effective use of computers in education.
My interest and passions are: Education, Technology, music, canoeing, sailing, woodworking, photography, and robotics.
